Massachusetts State Police Release–06-02-2013– Two Injured in Motor Cycle Crash on Route 95 Northbound in Newton

Today at 7:20 p.m. the State Police Received multiple reports of a single vehicle (Motor Cycle) crash on Route 95 Northbound at Exit  21 in Newton.

Troopers from the State Police Barracks in Framingham responded to the scene and discovered that the two occupants of the motorcycle had suffered serious injuries.  Both of the injured were taken by ambulance to Beth Israel Hospital for treatment.  Their conditions are not known at this time.

All of the northbound lanes of travel were closed for approximately 30 minutes to allow for emergency workers to respond and work the scene.  Currently, the two right lanes are getting by the remaining left lanes are still closed as the investigation and clean up continue.

Members of the State Police Collision Analysis  and Reconstruction Team   ( CARS) and Crime Scene Service Section (CSSS) are also on scene.

The State Police are being assisted in this matter by members of the Newton Police and Fire Departments and representatives from Mass DOT.

This is an on going situation and updates will be provided as information becomes available.   No other  vehicles were apparently involved in this crash.

One of the two persons injured in this crash, a female, has died as a result of the injuries she sustained during the crash.
It is believed the deceased was the passenger of the motorcycle.
The deceased person’s name will not be released until the appropriate notifications have been made.
The condition of the second person injured in this crash is still unknown at this time.
