On July 3, 2014, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Trooper Michael Crowley assigned to the State Police A-Troop Community Action Team was on patrol on Route 16 in the city of Everett when he observed a black BMW commit motor vehicle violations. Tpr. Crowley stopped the vehicle on Rt. 16 in Everett.

The BMW with a New York registration had two occupants inside. As a result of an investigation, the operator was identified as ELIAS NATHANIEL SANCHEZ LARA, 28, from Lawrence, MA and the passenger was identified as ALFREDO LEGUISAMON, 57, from Belleville, New Jersey.

A search of the motor vehicle revealed a kilogram of cocaine under the front passenger seat. ELIAS NATHANIEL SANCHEZ LARA and ALFREDO LEGUISAMON were placed under arrest and transported back to the State Police Barracks in Medford.

ELISA NATHANIEL SANCHEZ LARA was charged with the following offenses:
Trafficking in Cocaine
Conspiracy to Violate Drug Law
Larceny of a Motor Vehicle
State Highway Traffic Violation
License Plate Border Obstruction
Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle
False Name/SSN
Forge/Misuse RMV Documents
Identity Fraud

ALFREDO LEGUISAMON was charged with the following offenses:
Trafficking in Cocaine
Conspiracy to Violate the Drug Law
Larceny of a Motor Vehicle

SANCHEZ LARA and LEGUISAMON were held without bail pending their arraignment in Malden District Court.

Trooper Crowley was assisted on the motor vehicle stop by Trooper Keith Segee and a State Police K9 team.
