Massachusetts State Police Media Release – 09252016 – State Police Investigate Hit and Run, Pedestrian Struck, Killed in Medford

Early this morning, at approximately 5:38 a.m., troopers from the State Police Barracks in Medford responded to reports of a pedestrian struck on Route 16 Westbound, just prior to Wellington Circle, with serious life-threatening injuries.

Upon arrival, troopers discovered a man, not yet identified, had been struck by an unknown vehicle. The vehicle left the scene. There is no description of the wanted vehicle, presently available.

The man was transported to Mass General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The remaining facts and circumstances of the crash are currently under investigation by troopers from the Medford Barracks. Troop A Headquarters, State Police Crime Scene Services Section (CSSS), State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section (CARS), Medford Police, fire and EMS, all assisted on scene.
