Worcester Man Arrested Trafficking Cocaine and Heroin

The Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit, assisted by Worcester Police and the ATF, yesterday executed a search warrant at 14 Knight St., Worcester that resulted in an arrest and the seizure of a gun, ammunition, and trafficking-weight narcotics.

RICHARD JOHNSON, 40, was taken into custody. Troopers, officers and agents seized 427 grams of cocaine and 175 grams of heroin. Also seized were a loaded high-capacity 9mm Smith & Wesson pistol, 25 rounds of ammunition, and US currency.

JOHNSON was charged with the following offenses:

  1. Trafficking in cocaine;
  2. Trafficking in heroin;
  3. Being a felon in possession of a large capacity firearm;
  4. Improper storage of a large capacity firearm; and
  5. Unlawful possession of ammunition.

    Also assisting in the warrant execution were a State Police K-9 unit, the State Police Detective Unit for Worcester County, and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section.
