Massachusetts State Police Release — 05142018 — Motor Vehicle Stop on Route 1 in Saugus Leads to the Arrest of Two for Trafficking Oxycodone

Sunday May 13, 2018 at approximately 12:15 a.m., Trooper Andrew Patterson assigned to the State Police Barracks in Revere was on patrol on Route 1 in Saugus when he observed a black Mercedes speeding. Trooper Patterson subsequently stopped the vehicle, which had two occupants, on Route 1 along the Route 99 off ramp in Saugus.

As a result of an investigation and search of the vehicle 100 Oxycodone pills, a Springfield SD-40 with 8 live cartridges in a 12 cartridge capacity magazine and $7582 in cash were located. The operator, IRVING TERRERO, 25, of Lynn, the front seat passenger; CHAYANNE SANCHEZ, 23 of Peabody were placed under arrest and transported to the Revere Barracks where they were booked.

Both TERRERO and SANCHEZ were held pending bail of $75,000.00 each.

TERRERO was charged with the following:

  1. Use of a MV without authority
  2. Speeding
  3. Registration not in possession
  4. Trafficking in Class A (Oxycodone)
  5. Possession to distribute Class A (Oxycodone)
  6. Carrying a loaded large capacity Firearm
  7. Possession of a Firearm
  8. Unlawful possession of ammunition
  9. Possession of a Firearm during a felony
  10. Felon in possession of a Firearm
  11. Possession of a large capacity magazine

SANCHEZ was charged with the following:

  1. Trafficking in Class A (Oxycodone)
  2. Possession to distribute Class A (Oxycodone)
  3. Carrying a loaded large capacity Firearm
  4. Possession of a Firearm
  5. Unlawful possession of ammunition
  6. Possession of a Firearm during a felony
  7. Possession of a large capacity magazine
  8. Failure to wear seat belt
