Massachusetts State Police Media Release – 06142018 – Mattapan man arrested in Fitchburg for cocaine trafficking

On Tuesday, June 12, 2018, a motor vehicle stop on Mechanic Street in Fitchburg led to the arrest of a man for trafficking in cocaine, among other charges.

At about 6:25 p.m., Trooper Justin Burd observed a 2011 Buick Regal traveling on Mechanic Street with what he believed to be unlawfully tinted windows. He effected a motor vehicle stop and identified the operator as JOSUE MARTINEZ, 36, of Mattapan.

Trooper Burd established that MARTINEZ was operating on a suspended license and placed him under arrest. During an inventory of the motor vehicle, the trooper located approximately 56 grams of a substance believed to be crack cocaine.

MARTINEZ was booked at the State Police Barracks in Leominster on the following charges:
1. Trafficking in cocaine
2. Operating on a suspended license
3. Window obstructed/non-transparent

Bail was set at $4,000. He was arraigned yesterday in Fitchburg District Court.
