January 14, 2019 – The driver of the Ford Fusion killed in yesterday’s crash has been identified as Samantha Conly, 31 of Avon. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

State Police Investigating Fatal Crash In Norwood

January 13, 2019 – A crash on Route 95 Southbound, ½ a mile North of Exit 11A in Norwood tonight resulted in one fatality.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Michael Brown indicates that at about 5:40 P.M., a 31-year-old Avon woman was traveling on Route 95 Southbound in a 2006 Ford Fusion when, for reasons still under investigation, her vehicle went from the left lane into the middle lane and struck a 2018 Toyota Corolla that was traveling in the middle lane. After striking the Toyota the Ford traveled into the median and came to rest against a tree.

As a result of that collision, the operator and sole occupant of the Ford, the 31-year-old Avon woman was transported to Norwood Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. The operator and sole occupant of the Toyota, a 37-year-old man from Sharon was uninjured.

This crash remains under investigation with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section and the Troop H Detectives. No charges have been filed at this time.

State Police were assisted on scene by Norwood Fire and EMS, and MassDOT.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending family notification.
