Three Arrested Trafficking Narcotics in Worcester

Yesterday afternoon, at approximately 3:00 p.m., troopers assigned to the Troop C Community Action Team, in partnership with the State Police Narcotics Section, DEA Worcester HIDTA and US Postal Inspection Service, as the result of an investigation, stopped a 2005 Acura on Belmont Street driven by CATHIA Y. GONZALEZ, 26, of Worcester. GONZALEZ has a suspended driver’s license.

As a result of the investigation, with the assistance of State Police K-9, GONZALEZ and two passengers, JOSE MARTINEZ-CEPEDA, 33, and VERONICA GONZALEZ-ACOSTA, 41, both of Worcester were found to be in possession of approximately 1 kilogram of narcotics, believed to be cocaine. MARTINEZ-CEPEDA was also found to be in possession of 15 pills, believed to be a controlled Class-E substance. All three were placed under arrest.

GONZALEZ was charged with the following:
1.            Trafficking in cocaine
2.            Conspiracy to violate drug law
3.            Operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license

MARTINEZ-CEPEDA was charged with the following:
1.            Trafficking in cocaine
2.            Conspiracy to violate drug law
3.            Possession class B drug (cocaine)
3.            Possession class E drug (pills)

GONZALEZ-ACOSTA was charged with the following:
1.            Trafficking in cocaine
2.            Conspiracy to violate drug law

All three were held on $50,000 bail, pending arraignment today in Worcester District Court.
