State Police arrest woman for OUI after she causes crash and flips her car on RT 91 in Longmeadow
Massachusetts State Police Release–032013–Woman Arrested Thursday in Longmeadow OUI Crash
The Massachusetts State Police arrested a woman on Thursday evening on RT 91 in Longmeadow after she crashed her vehicle into another car then rolled her car over eventually landing on its roof. Trooper Thiago Miranda from the State Police barracks in Springfield responded to the accident scene after multiple calls were from passing motorists.
The operator of the vehicle which allegedly caused the accident is Anne ANDREWS, 38 or Holyoke, Mass. Witnesses to the accident reported that prior to the crash; ANDREWS’ 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier was traveling at a high rate of speed in the left travel lane and unexpectedly moved to the middle lane colliding with another car. The collision caused ANDREWS’ car to roll over and come to rest on its roof. The other car involved sustained significant damage however the operator, Dominic Evans, 27 of Ludlow and his passengers were not injured. Trooper Miranda determined that ANDREWS was operating under the influence of alcohol (OUI) and she was arrested.
In addition to the OUI, ANDREWS was charged with speeding, marked lanes violation, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
Trooper Miranda was assisted at this incident by troopers from the State Police Barracks in Springfield, and members of the Longmeadow Fire Department. ANDREWS will be arraigned today at the Spring field District Court.
