State Police Response To YouTube Video

Massachusetts State Police Media Release – 12102014 – State Police Response To YouTube Video

To date, the individual who posted a video depicting a trooper using pepper spray during a demonstration in Boston last week has not responded to several requests by State Police to contact us. The department attempted to contact the person in the video online in the comment chain under his video, and also sent two Internal Affairs investigators to try to speak to him at his residence as well as at a local gym. Though he was not located, messages and contact information were left at both locations. A message was also left by phone with a relative of the man asking him to contact the State Police regarding the incident.

On Tuesday, the State Police placed the trooper depicted in the video on restricted duty pending completion of a department investigation. The name of the trooper is not being released while the internal investigation is underway.

Again, we are asking the individual who posted the video to contact the Massachusetts State Police so that the investigation of the matter can be thoroughly undertaken.
