Massachusetts State Police Media Release – 01172016 – State Police Investigate Fatal Crash in Peabody

Last evening, at approximately 7:05 p.m., troopers from the State Police Barracks in Danvers responded to reports of a single-vehicle rollover crash on Route 1 Northbound, prior to Lowell Street in Peabody. Upon arrival, troopers discovered a 2002 Toyota Avalon on its roof. It had been traveling northbound and for reasons still under investigation, exited the right side of the highway, rolling over, coming to rest on its roof, off the right side of the roadway.

The man driving, who was later identified as MICHAEL F. KEDDIE, 46, of Peabody was transported to Lahey Medical Center, Peabody where he was determined to be deceased as a result of injuries sustained from the crash.

The remaining facts and circumstances of the crash are currently under investigation by troopers from the Danvers Barracks. Troop A Headquarters, State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section (CARS), State Police Crime Scene Services Section (CSSS), Peabody Police and Fire Departments, and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (Mass DOT), all assisted on scene.
