Man Deceased After Being Pulled from Charles

At 6:53 a.m. today Massachusetts State Troopers from the Brighton Barracks responded to Charles River after a dog walker and a rower reported seeing man jump into the water from the Weeks Footbridge. The State Police dive team and Marine Unit, as well as Cambridge Fire Department divers, also responded.

Just after 8 a.m. divers pulled the man from the river. He was transported by ambulance to Mount Auburn Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The victim is an adult male from Allston. His name and age are not being released at this time.

State Police detectives assigned to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office are conducting a follow-up investigation.
