State Police arrest Bronx man for trafficking heroin in Sturbridge

September 28, 2018 – Last night at about 7:15 P.M., a motor vehicle stop led to the arrest of a New York man for trafficking in heroin.

Trooper Michael Coflesky of the Troop C Community Action Team was on patrol when he observed a 2016 Honda Accord fail to signal a lane change while traveling on I-90 in Sturbridge, causing a tractor-trailer to abruptly brake in order to avoid a collision. The Honda then continued onto the Route 84 ramp at a high rate of speed.

Trooper Coflesky stopped the Honda on Route 84 Westbound in Sturbridge and, following an investigation with assistance from Trooper Patrick Robinson and K-9 AMIR, discovered approximately 410 grams of a substance believed to be heroin inside the vehicle. Troopers additionally located and seized more than $4000 in cash which was located inside the vehicle.

The operator and sole occupant, ANGEL GONZALEZ-POLANCO, 28, of Bronx, New York, was arrested and charged with the following offenses:
1. Trafficking in heroin
2. Failure to signal
3. Speeding

GONZALEZ-POLANCO was held on $20,000 bail pending his arraignment in Dudley District Court today.
