Three Lynn residents arrested for heroin trafficking in Sturbridge

October 19, 2018 – Yesterday at about 12:30 A.M., a motor vehicle stop on Route 84 in Sturbridge led to the arrest of three people for trafficking in heroin.

Trooper Martin Cunniff pulled over a Honda CRV on Route 84 Eastbound in Sturbridge for speeding and repeatedly drifting over lane markings. Trooper Cunniff made contact with the operator, JUAN JAQUEZ, 27, of Lynn, and determined that neither the operator nor his two occupants could confirm they knew the owner of the vehicle. Upon further investigation, with assistance from Trooper Michael Barrera and Trooper Kyle Kilimonis and his K-9 partner “Boomah”, approximately 2.5 kilograms of a substance believed to be heroin was located in the vehicle. Troopers additionally located and seized approximately $850 in cash.

JAQUEZ and his two passengers, YANET LOPEZ MENDOZA, 38, and DANIEL RIVERA-ROSARIO, 49, both from Lynn, were placed under arrest for trafficking in heroin. JAQUEZ was additionally cited for speeding and committing a marked lanes violation. All were booked at the State Police barracks in Sturbridge and held pending their arraignment in Dudley District Court yesterday morning.
