At 1:29 p.m. today Troopers from State Police-South Boston responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 93 southbound, south of Exit 9, in Quincy. Preliminary investigation suggests the operator and lone occupant, for reasons still under investigation, veered from a travel lane and struck a guardrail, causing life-threatening injuries. The operator, an adult, was transported to an area hospital by ambulance.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing and is being conducted by Troop H of the Massachusetts State Police, the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. The right lane remains closed at the crash scene to facilitate the investigation.
