STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE FATAL MOTORCYCLE CRASH IN FLORIDA

Saturday at about 8:11 p.m., Troopers from the State Police-Cheshire Barracks responded to a crash involving a motorcycle on River Road in the town of Florida that resulted in the death of the operator. 

Preliminary investigation indicates that, a 44-year-old male from Florida, Mass., was driving a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle on River Road. For reasons still under investigation the operator lost control and crashed the motorcycle. No other vehicle was involved. 

The operator was transported to Berkshire Medical Center in North Adams where he succumbed to his injuries. 

The crash remains under investigation with assistance from State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, and Berkshire County State Police Detective Unit. Florida Fire and Northern Berkshire EMS assisted with the crash scene.
