State Police Arrest Four with Narcotics, Firearm

At approximately 8:30 p.m. on June 6, Trooper Timothy Alben, assigned to State Police-Northampton, was on patrol in the area of Damon Road in Northampton. At that time, he conducted a motor vehicle stop after observing a Honda CRV continue straight through a left turn only intersection.

After stopping the vehicle, Trooper Alben conducted an RMV inquiry of the license plate and observed the registered owner, identified as HEATHER LONEGRAN, 36, of Bennington, Vt., to have an active warrant for her arrest. Trooper Alben approached the vehicle and confirmed that the operator was indeed LONEGRAN. She was removed from the vehicle and placed under arrest. Trooper Alben then attempted to identify three additional passengers in the vehicle, however, it was determined the two rear passengers were providing false names. The front passenger was identified as KENNETH ALFANO, 31, of Bennington, Vt., who did not possess a driver’s license. As no other licensed drivers were in the vehicle, Trooper Alben requested a tow truck to remove it. Prior to the vehicle being removed from the scene, Trooper Alben conducted an inventory of its contents and quickly observed drug paraphernalia. This discovery led to a full search of the vehicle, which yielded a Taurus G2 9MM firearm, approximately 46 g

rams of crack, and approximately 27 "Half packs" or 1350 wax paper folds containing heroin.

All occupants were placed under arrest and transported to State Police-Northampton for booking. A bail commissioner was contacted and placed a bail amount of $25,000 on LONEGRAN and ALFANO.
