Mounted Unit Announces Death of Horse
On the evening of November 19, 2025, Massachusetts State Police Mount Jay passed away from complications from cancer. Jay, a 12 ½ year old Percheron, joined the Mounted Unit at the age of 10 in March of 2023 from CNY Event Ranch in Oswego NY. Standing 18 hands tall, his stature made quite the presence at every event he attended. He immediately became one of our A-Team horses which meant he was a truly reliable “go to” horse for our Unit members and was always head of the pack
