Framingham – Today, the Massachusetts State Police announced the arrest of Tajon Saxon, a 26-year-old New Bedford man wanted in connection with three homicides in Fall River – a 2023 murder and a May 2021 double homicide.
In May 2023, Fall River Police responded to reports of a person shot on County Street. Once on scene, officers located the victim and facilitated medical transport to Rhode Island Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police identified four individuals as suspects and obtained warrants. The State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section (VFAS) arrested two of the suspects and a third turned himself in to police. Saxon remained at-large and was placed on the State Police Mosted Wanted list in January 2024.
In the months that followed, the Department continued pursuing leads up and down the east coast – from Florida, South Carolina, and across New England. These investigatory efforts culminated in an address check by State and New Bedford Police personnel who located Saxon hiding in the bathroom of a 3rd floor apartment. Police took Saxon into custody without incident and transported to him to the Dartmouth Barracks for booking.
“Massachusetts State Troopers assigned to the Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section work collaboratively with our partners every day to pursue, locate, and apprehend individuals wanted for violent crimes that negatively impact quality of life,” Massachusetts State Police Colonel Geoffrey Noble said. “I also commend the New Bedford and Fall River Police Departments whose integral partnership enabled the team to deliver this case to prosecutors at the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.”
