On August 3, 2026, Troopers assigned to the Sturbridge Barracks arrested the driver of a tractor-trailer after he struck an unoccupied, parked Massachusetts State Police cruiser outside the barracks.
The impact pushed the cruiser onto a curb and into a light pole. The tractor trailer then continued over nearby shrubs before circling behind the barracks in an apparent attempt to leave the scene. Troopers stopped the vehicle moments later.
During the investigation, Troopers observed that the driver was unsteady on his feet, had glassy eyes, and detected an odor of alcohol on his breath.
Timothy Dorsey, 50, of Pensacola, Florida, was arrested and transported to Dudley District Court for arraignment on the following charges:
▪️ Leaving the Scene of Property Damage
▪️ Operating Under the Influence of Liquor
▪️ Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle
Fortunately, no Troopers or members of the public were injured.
Operating under the influence endangers everyone on our roadways. If you choose to drink, make a plan for a sober ride. One poor decision can have serious consequences.
