Vehicle with Suspended Registration Leads to Firearm Arrest

On 08/24/2026, a Trooper from the Millbury Barracks stopped a vehicle with three occupants that was operating with a suspended registration on Route 90 in Grafton. While an inventory was carried out on the vehicle prior to being towed, the Trooper located a large-capacity firearm with defaced serial numbers in the rear passenger area leading to the trunk compartment. Neither the driver nor the passengers had a license to carry (LTC). All three occupants of the vehicle were placed under arrest and charged with firearm offenses. The operator was also cited with Unsafe Operation of a Motor Vehicle along with Unregistered Motor Vehicle.

Passenger Hiding in Vehicle Found to Have Multiple Warrants

On 08/19/2026, a Trooper from the Concord Barracks was working the evening shift, with his cruiser positioned in a gas station parking lot in Lowell. He observed a Nissan Pathfinder enter the lot and immediately exit upon seeing his cruiser. An RMV query showed the vehicle was not inspected, and the Trooper conducted a motor vehicle stop. During the stop, the Trooper observed improperly stored marijuana in plain view along with drug paraphernalia. During a probable cause search, Troopers located an individual hiding under a blanket in the third-row seat. After providing multiple false names, the individual was positively identified and found to have 10 warrants issued by Lowell District Court. He was taken into custody, held without bail and transported to Lowell District Court the following morning.

Operator Strikes Barrels in Detail Setup, Arrested for OUI

On 08/26/2026, a Trooper was working an overnight paid detail on Route 91 in Bernardston when a vehicle struck numerous barrels in the detail setup and nearly struck his cruiser. A motor vehicle stop was conducted, during which the operator displayed indications of alcohol impairment. Another Trooper arrived on scene and conducted Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs). The operator failed. He was arrested for Operating Under the Influence (OUI) Alcohol and cited for a Marked Lanes Violation.

Erratic Operator Charged with OUI

On 08/21/2026, a Trooper from the Middleborough Barracks was dispatched to an erratic vehicle traveling on four flat tires on Interstate 495 southbound in Raynham. The Trooper located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. During the investigation, the male operator displayed signs of drug impairment and was given Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs). Based on his observations and the results of the investigation, the Trooper formed the opinion that the operator was under the influence of drugs. The operator was placed under arrest and charged with Operating Under the Influence (OUI) Drugs, 2nd Offense.

Disorderly Passenger Arrested after Flight Landed

On 08/22/2026, Troopers from Logan Airport were made aware of a physical altercation onboard a JetBlue flight that just arrived at the gate. Several Troopers arrived and immediately boarded the plane. Patrols discovered that the disturbance was between two male passengers, with one male requesting EMS after being struck in the face. Patrols were able to speak with multiple witnesses and identify a suspect. The male passenger was arrested and charged with Interfering with a Flight Crew, Disorderly Conduct and Assault & Battery.

StarChase Deployed on Vehicle Involved in Serious Incident

On 08/24/2026 Troop H Communications broadcast a be on the lookout (BOLO) for a vehicle involved in a machete attack in Brockton that had subsequently failed to stop for Brockton Police. Shortly thereafter, Troopers located the suspect vehicle on Route 138 in Canton. One Trooper maneuvered behind the vehicle and successfully deployed a StarChase GPS tracking device onto the suspect vehicle. With the assistance of Troop H Communications, responding officers were able to track the vehicle’s location and eventually stopped it in Dorchester. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
