On April 20, Troopers participated in a community “Intro to Swim” program held at the YMCA in New Bedford. The event consisted of Troopers assigned to various roles within the State Police, including our Underwater Recovery Unit, D-troop Community Action Team, Employee Assistance Unit with K-9 Margaux, Drone Unit, Recruitment and Diversity, and several Cadets.

The State Police would like to give a special thank you to Tara P., YMCA executive director, and her staff for making this event possible. Tara was ecstatic to integrate Troopers in teaching children about water safety. We would also like to thank Popeyes Chicken for providing meals for the children.
