Traffic Stop Leads to Fleeing Suspect Tossing a Firearm into Woods

On 07/05/2026, a Trooper from the Holden Barracks while on patrol on Route 290 in Worcester, observed a motor vehicle with no rear license plate. The Trooper attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop. The vehicle continued to drive down the off ramp, take a left-hand turn and returned to Route 290. The operator attempted to evade the Trooper but then pulled into a grassy area. The operator fled on foot with a black bag that he tossed into the wood line. The Trooper proceeded to chase the suspect a short distance, observing him on the side of Route 290. The male operator was ordered to the ground and was handcuffed. The Trooper located the bag that was thrown, which was found to have narcotics, as well as an extended magazine with 9mm ammunition loaded into it. A K-9 was called to the scene as it was suspected that the subject had also thrown a firearm into the woods. The K-9 recovered a loaded, brown and black firearm with a 15-round magazine in the wood line. The firearm did not have a serial number and appeared to be a manufactured “ghost” gun. The suspect was taken into custody and charged.

Individual Arrested Following Disorderly Conduct at Revere Beach

On 07/05/2026, a Trooper from the Revere Barracks was on foot patrol around Beach Street in Revere when she observed a male party walking along the beach yelling profanities at beach goers. Another Trooper arrived on scene to assist with this individual. Upon making contact with the party, he immediately started yelling at both Troopers. He sat on the beach wall as the Troopers attempted to determine the cause for his erratic behavior. He then lunged at a Trooper, spitting in her face while continuing to yell at her. Troopers attempted to place the party into custody while he continued to resist and attempted to flee. The individual was ultimately taken into custody and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Assault & Battery on a Police Officer, Resist Arrest and Disturbing the Peace. Several beach goers expressed their gratitude to the Troopers as they were concerned with his erratic behavior among all the families at the beach.

Troopers Respond to Active B&E Leading to Two Arrests

On 07/05/2026, Troopers from the Brookfield Barracks responded to a breaking & entering (B&E) in progress call at a manufacturing business in the Town of West Brookfield. The owner had called 911 when she saw on her security camera two men wearing black ski masks forcing entry into the business. West Brookfield PD also responded.  The two suspects fled from the scene upon seeing responding officers. A Trooper located one of the males. After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect laid on the ground. The suspect had a jewelry testing kit and a black ski mask in a bag on his person. MSP Air Wing, SP Sturbridge, SP Belchertown, and local PDs responded to locate the outstanding suspect. The second suspect was found lying under a tree in the bushes. The suspects were arrested and charged with several felonies.

Erratic Operator Charged with 3^rd OUI Offense

On 07/02/2026, a Trooper from the Norwell Barracks responded to reports on an erratic operator on Route 6. The Trooper observed the vehicle approaching his location. The vehicle swerved into the breakdown lane and nearly struck the Trooper’s cruiser.  Upon stopping the vehicle, the operator showed signs of drug intoxication. During a search of the suspect, several illegal drugs were located. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST) were conducted. The operator was arrested charged with his 3rd offense of Operating Under the Influence drugs as well as illegal drug possession.

Individual Taken into Custody for Open and Gross Lewdness Charges  

On 07/08/2026, Troopers assigned to the South Boston Barracks, the Troop H Detective Unit and the Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section (VFAS) were able to take an individual into custody for a warrant issued out of Quincy District Court on 07/07/2026. This individual is the suspect in a pattern of Open and Gross Lewdness incidents that have occurred in Squantum Point Park in Quincy between April and June in which he exposed his himself to unsuspecting female parties. Four female victims reported the behavior to the State Police South Boston Barracks. Through victim interviews, physical surveillance and other investigation; Troopers were able to identify the individual as the primary suspect in all reported incidents.
