Man Arrested for Child Endangerment Charges During Traffic Stop

On 6/13/2026, a Trooper from the Cheshire Barracks conducted a motor vehicle stop in the Town of Lanesborough for motor vehicle violations. During the stop, the operator of the motor vehicle refused to identify himself, became argumentative, and stated he did not need to provide his identification. Within the vehicle were three young children and the operator’s partner. The Trooper, as well as other MSP assets and Lanesborough PD attempted to de-escalate the situation and gain voluntary compliance, however the operator continued to refuse lawful exit orders and would not provide identification. MSP utilized a glass breaking tool to breach the driver-side window and were able to remove the operator from the vehicle and take him into custody.
