UPDATE #4–MSP, GARDNER POLICE SEARCHING FOR MURDER SUSPECT; PUBLIC’S ASSISTANCE REQUESTED

 UPDATE #4–The ground search for fugitive homicide suspect AARON PENNINGTON by the State Police Special Emergency Response Team, K9 Unit, and Air Wing, along with our local partners, continued throughout the day and has now concluded for today. The area searched over the last two days comprises approximately 200 heavily wooded acres. PENNINGTON has not yet been located.

Troopers from the State Police Detective Unit for Worcester County and the State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section and Gardner Police Detectives continue to work to determine PENNINGTON’s whereabouts.

The District Attorney’s Office and investigators today obtained a warrant charging PENNINGTON, 33, with the Oct. 22 fatal shooting of his wife, Breanne Pennington, 30.

Unit commanders will continue to assess intelligence and investigative developments to determine when and how to resume ground/air search operations. At this point, barring the development of new information, no widespread ground search is planned for tomorrow. We will update when appropriate.

We continue to ask members of the public to call 911 if they see PENNINGTON or have information about his whereabouts. He is considered armed and dangerous.
