Multiple Firearms Seized during Motor Vehicle Stop  

On 6/9/2026, a Trooper from the Concord Barracks stopped a vehicle due to having an expired registration.  During an inventory of the vehicle, the Trooper discovered a Palmetto State Armory AR-15 style rifle, four 30-round high-capacity magazines, five handgun magazines, and 168 rounds of ammunition. The operator did not have a License to Carry in Massachusetts; he was taken into custody and charged with multiple firearms violations as well as motor vehicle violations.  

 

Troopers’ Swift CPR Intervention Saves a Life  

On 6/10/2026, Troopers working a dedicated patrol along the Southwest Corridor in Boston performed immediate, life-saving CPR on an unresponsive male without a pulse. When Troopers arrived on the scene, they requested Boston EMS and started CPR. Their persistent efforts resulted in the victim regaining consciousness before being transported by EMS.  


Trooper Confronts Armed Subject 

On 6/9/2026, a Trooper from the Holden Barracks, while on a traffic stop in Worcester, was approached by two juveniles who stated a man had pulled a gun on them. They pointed to the male party who was sitting in his vehicle. The Trooper immediately approached the suspect vehicle and demanded that the operator exit his vehicle. The operator did exit his vehicle and started to advance the Trooper, stating, “You’re gonna have to shoot me.” At this time, the Trooper utilized her taser and pepper spray to subdue the threat until backup State Police and Worcester PD arrived on scene. The party was taken into custody and charged with multiple offenses, including Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Resisting Arrest. 

 

 Missing Person with Dementia Found Safe in Woods  

On 6/10/2026, a large-scale search involving the Special Emergency Response Team (SERT), the K-9 Unit, the Airwing, and local responders successfully located a missing elderly male with dementia deep in the woods in Savoy. The party had been reported missing by his wife. He was later found by the ground search teams without any injuries and was evaluated by EMS.  

 

Troopers Assist Party in Crisis  

On 6/8/2025, family members of an individual called police reporting that he had made suicidal statements, and they were concerned about his safety. That person’s phone was tracked and Troopers from the Lee Barracks along with Pittsfield Police located the individual. The party was unharmed and transferred to hospital for a medical evaluation.
