Kidnapping and Carjacking Charges Are Result of Erratic Driving Stop
On May 16, 2026, a Trooper assigned to the Holden Barracks was patrolling in Worcester when she observed a vehicle traveling toward her at an estimated speed exceeding 50 miles per hour over the limit. The Trooper activated her emergency lights in an attempt to stop the vehicle.
The vehicle initially slowed as if to pull over, but the Trooper observed the passenger repeatedly opening the door, appearing as though he was considering jumping out. The vehicle then accelerated again before eventually coming to a stop.
As the Trooper approached the driver’s side window, she noticed the operator appeared extremely nervous and repeatedly looked toward the passenger before answering her questions.
When the Trooper returned to her cruiser to check the driver’s information, the operator suddenly exited the vehicle and ran toward her, stating he was “scared to be with the passenger.” The driver told the Trooper he did not know the passenger and that the man had forced his way into the vehicle, threatening to stab him if he did not drive away.
As the Trooper approached the passenger side and ordered the man out of the vehicle, she observed him holding what appeared to be an uncapped hypodermic needle with the tip exposed. The passenger was immediately taken into custody.
Further investigation revealed the operator was an Uber driver who had been resting in a parking lot when the suspect entered the vehicle uninvited and threatened him. The driver stated he feared for his life and provided additional evidence supporting his account.
The suspect was arrested and charged with carjacking, kidnapping, and possession of a Class A substance after Troopers located a substance believed to be fentanyl during a search.

On May 17, 2026, a Trooper assigned to the Milton Barracks responded to a medical emergency on Route 93 southbound in Canton. Upon arrival, the Trooper located an unresponsive man seated in the driver’s seat of a vehicle.
The Trooper immediately removed the man from the vehicle and began performing CPR in the breakdown lane for several minutes before additional Troopers arrived with an AED.
Shortly thereafter, firefighters and paramedics from the Canton and Westwood Fire Departments arrived on scene and transported the man to the hospital. The man was later found to have regained a pulse and is expected to survive, thanks to the lifesaving actions of the responding Troopers and first responders.
Traffic Stop in Huntington Leads to Drug Trafficking Arrest
On May 20, 2026, a Trooper assigned to the Russell Barracks conducted a traffic stop on an SUV in Huntington after a query revealed the registered owner had a suspended license.
During the stop, the Trooper confirmed the operator was driving with a suspended license and took him into custody. While conducting an inventory of the vehicle, Troopers discovered four sealed packages of marijuana, along with an estimated 9,000 to 10,000 dosage units of suspected heroin or fentanyl. The narcotics were packaged in a manner consistent with distribution and sale.
The operator was arrested and charged with multiple drug trafficking offenses.
