Road Rage Incident Involving a Firearm Leads to Arrest 

On May 22, 2026, Troopers assigned to the Andover Barracks responded to a road rage incident where a firearm was displayed on Route 93 northbound in Woburn. The victim described the vehicle as a black Acura TL and was able to provide the MA plate number.  

Moments later, a Trooper saw the wanted vehicle on Route 93 northbound in Andover and conducted a motor vehicle stop. The operator was removed from his vehicle and detained. A motor vehicle search revealed a loaded Sig Sauer P365, and a 9-round magazine located in the vehicle.  

A records check revealed the operator to have a valid License to Carry. Based on the detailed description that was given of the firearm and operator of said vehicle, the operator was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, charges were filed out of Woburn District Court.   

 

Speeding Violation Leads to Passenger Fleeing and Arrest 

On May 25, 2026, a Trooper from the Springfield Barracks conducted a motor vehicle stop on Interstate 91 in Springfield after observing the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.  

As the vehicle stopped, the trooper noticed the passenger and driver had switched seats. Additionally, he saw the rear seat passenger dip down as if he were concealing or retrieving an item. Additional cruisers arrived on the scene. The occupants were asked to step out of the vehicle. As one passenger exited the vehicle, he jumped over the guardrail and attempted to flee the scene. Troopers were able to stop the subject, and after a brief struggle, he was taken into custody.  

A firearm was recovered from the subject’s waistband; his charges include resisting arrest, assault and battery on a Police Officer, and multiple firearms charges.  


Troopers Use De-Escalation to Assist Individual During a Mental Health Crisis  

On May 24, 2026, Troopers assigned to the Russell Barracks responded to an incident in Huntington where an emotionally disturbed individual reportedly attempted to light their residence on fire.   

When Troopers arrived on scene, the individual had barricaded themselves in a room and was holding a knife against their throat. Troopers used de-escalation efforts and were able to safely remove the weapon from the individual. That person was then transported to the hospital for evaluation and medical treatment.  


Illegal Window Tint Stop Reveals Suspect with Open Warrant  

On May 21, 2026, Troopers from the Charlton Barracks stopped a vehicle for an illegal window tint violation at Route 90 at the Charlton Plaza.  

A query of the operator showed him to have a warrant out of Quincy District Court for charges related to a street takeover incident. He was also found to be in possession of marijuana and ammunition without a Firearms Identification Card. He was taken into custody for the warrant and was charged for ammunition offenses.  


Reports of Erratic Operation Leads to Firearm Arrest 

On May 22, 2026, the Middleborough Barracks received a call from a concerned party who witnessed a tractor trailer operating erratically on Route 24 in Berkley. The caller stated the tractor trailer had been unable to maintain lanes and almost made contact with vehicles while driving.  A Trooper in the area located the tractor trailer and conducted a motor vehicle stop. While speaking with the operator, he stated he had a firearm on his person.  

A query revealed the operator did not have a License to Carry in Massachusetts. The operator was placed into custody and charged with firearms offenses along with motor vehicle violations.  

A motor vehicle search revealed two firearms, a loaded FN Reflex handgun and a Smith and loaded Wesson M&P handgun. 


Expired Registration Results in Arrest After Liquor, Suspected Drugs, and Gun Found in Vehicle 

On May 20, 2026, a Trooper from the Foxborough conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 1 in Wrentham. The vehicle was stopped for having an expired registration.  

While speaking with the operator, the Trooper observed a partially consumed bottle of alcohol between the operator’s legs and the driver’s seat, the Trooper then ordered the operator to exit the vehicle. As a result of his roadside investigation, the Trooper located approximately 1 gram of suspected cocaine along with a Rugar LC9 semi-automatic pistol with an empty magazine inserted into the firearm. The operator was found to have an expired License to Carry. The operator was taken into custody.
