State Police Help Locate Missing 88-Year-Old in Woods of Savoy

On June 9, Troopers from the Cheshire Barracks, the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, Special Emergency Response Team (SERT), and Drone Unit, alongside the Florida and Savoy Fire Departments, responded to assist in the search for an 88-year-old man who became separated from his wife while walking in the woods of Savoy.



Using a coordinated ground and aerial search, first responders worked together to locate the missing hiker and reunite him with his family after he was evaluated by EMS.


This incident highlights the value of teamwork, specialized resources, and rapid response when every minute counts.
