Weekly Summary of Police Activity

In the 351 cities and towns, Massachusetts State Troopers use their training and skill to navigate a variety of circumstances that often present significant danger to themselves and others. In an effort to raise greater awareness of their work, the Department periodically shares incident summaries.

Each summary represents a small portion of the Department’s work to enhance public safety, collaborate with our partners, and foster positive relationships within the communities we serve.

For the integrity of ongoing criminal cases and in the interest of each subject’s privacy, we have removed personally identifying information from the narratives as well as information not subject to public disclosure. All criminal defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Upon arrival, Troopers identified the two women, including one who was crying and bleeding from her arms and legs.

During their individual interviews on scene, , the suspect continued to yell aggressively over the Troopers at the victim telling her not answer any questions.

The pair told Police that they had been in a relationship and subsequently provided a fictitious story that attributed the injuries to an ex-boyfriend of the victim who they could not identify by name, physical descriptors, or direction of travel.

As their investigation continued, Troopers determined that an assault had occurred and took the suspect into custody. Troopers also facilitated support and counseling to the victim who appeared fearful, distressed, and physically harmed.
