Weekly Summary of Police Activity

In the 351 cities and towns, Massachusetts State Troopers use their training and skill to navigate a variety of circumstances that often present significant danger to themselves and others. In an effort to raise greater awareness of their work, the Department periodically shares incident summaries.

Each summary reflects a small portion of the Department’s work to strengthen public safety, collaborate with our partners, and build positive relationships in the communities we serve.

For the integrity of ongoing criminal cases and in the interest of each subject’s privacy, we have removed personally identifying information from the narratives as well as information not subject to public disclosure. All criminal defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Troopers reapproached the pedestrian, but she said she was not going with Troopers and kept walking. The pedestrian was extremely agitated and refused a ride several times. The pedestrian then went into the woods while Troopers tried to stop her. The pedestrian came out of the woods and was offered a ride to which she again refused. While Troopers attempted to place her under arrest, she started kicking, punching, and grabbing Troopers cross strap, also attempting to gain control of Troopers firearm. Once she was handcuffed, she continued kicking. Two officers from the Bolton Police Department arrived to assist. The pedestrian continued being assaultive to all officers: kicking, screaming, and spitting.

EMS was requested and arrived to evaluate the pedestrian. The aggressive behavior continued as the pedestrian attempted to kick EMS. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital and had to be restrained and sedated. The hospital staff placed her on a Section 12 and held for a mental health evaluation. The pedestrian was summonsed for a later court date.
