At around 8:40 this evening local agencies requested assistance from the Massachusetts State Police after officers exchanged gunfire with a suspect at a residence on Old Carriage Drive in Wilbraham. A Wilbraham Police Officer was struck by gunfire and has been transported to an area hospital.

The suspect is believed to still be inside the home. Their condition is unknown at this time.

Multiple State Police assets have responded to assist local police. Troopers and Officers have established a perimeter around the residence. A roadblock has been put in place isolating Old Carriage Drive. The State Police Special Tactical Operations Team, Crisis Negotiation Unit, Drone Unit, K9 Unit, and Troopers from the Springfield Barracks are assisting our local partners at that location. Members of the State Police Bomb Squad have also responded with robotic platforms.

Officers and Troopers on scene are working to make contact with the suspect and resolve the situation. The scene remains active.
